About me

Alexia is the Finance and Administrative Officer for the African Health Observatory - Platform on Health Systems and Policies (AHOP). Hosted by the WHO Regional Office for Africa (WHO AFRO), AHOP leverages existing national and regional collaborations to form a network of National Centres that currently include leading research institutions in Ethiopia, Kenya, Nigeria, Rwanda and Senegal. AHOP draws on support from a technical consortium including the European Observatory on Health Systems and Policies, LSE and national, regional and global partners.

Alexia establishes and maintains the administrative and financial functions required to support the smooth running of AHOP. Before joining the LSE, Alexia worked to facilitate collaboration between Academia and Industry around highly innovative projects seeking European funding to tackle key societal challenges.

Prior to moving to London, Alexia did an internship at the Belgian Representation to the United Nations in New York where she was in charge of reporting on Security Council meetings and Political Affairs in the Middle East. She also worked as a Research Assistant at the Centre for International Crisis and Conflicts (Universite Catholique de Louvain) where she focussed on the foreign policy of great and middle powers (United States, Russia, Australia). Alexia’s interests are focused on international societal and humanitarian affairs.
