Rosa Balfour is director of Carnegie Europe. Her fields of expertise include European politics, institutions, and foreign and security policy. Her current research focuses on the relationship between domestic politics and Europe’s global role.

Jussi M. Hanhimäki is Professor of International History and Politics at the Graduate Institute, Geneva. His main research interests include American foreign policy, transatlantic relations, international institutions, and cold war history. Among his books are: The Flawed Architect: Henry Kissinger and American Foreign Policy (2004); International History of the Twentieth Century and Beyond (2015); United Nations: A Very Short Introduction (2008, 2015).
