2018 will see key decisions by EU leaders on the deepening of the Economic and Monetary Union, further moves to boost tax transparency and reform corporate taxation in the wake of the Paradise Papers, and the conclusion of Greece’s financial assistance programme after more than seven years. 

In facing these challenges, Moscovici warned that the war against nationalists and anti-European populists is far from over.
