April 2023

The Department of International Development is hosting a 'Careers Month' during the April recess, an initiative with information, resources and events to support ID students around careers.

ID careers resources

Visit the ID Careers web page as a starting point for thinking about careers in International Development. It includes information, links to blogs that share insight into the sector and job boards for people seeking opportunities in development.

Take a look at this booklet on Careers in International Development from LSE Careers Service.

Look back at videos and slides from past 'Discover ID' events run through Career Hub. These provide information on different areas and pathways in the field of International Development and how to start thinking about your own career journey.

Check out the series of fantastic Discover ID blog posts published in MT 2021 on how to get into International Organisations and Development Banks, how to get into international development consulting and how to get into International Non-Governmental Organisations (iNGOs).

You can also look back at this blog from an LSE alumna on where to start if you’re interested in a career in International Development.

Making the most of LSE's Careers Service

LSE Careers provides a wide range of resources to support students in their career journeys, including information and signposting, blogs, events, guidance, one-to-one consultations and more.
