About me

Alexandros Zachariades is a Fellow in the Department of International Relations at LSE. He is the Editor of vol.51 of the Millennium:J ournal of International Studies and the Head of Research of the 89 Initiative. He holds a BA in History and Politics from the University of Exeter and an MSc in International Relations Theory from LSE. He is currently a PhD candidate in the International Relations Department at LSE.

His research focuses on the Foreign Policy of Greece and Cyprus in the Middle East, with a particular interest in the Eastern Mediterranean and the Persian Gulf. His work also explores the interconnection between Neoclassical Realism and small states. Alexandros has contributed articles and has been interviewed by international and regional media outlets, including Al Jazeera, Euronews, Le Monde, Arab News, Mediapart and Kathimerini. He is conducting his research at LSE with the support of an Onassis Foundation scholarship.
