The workshop series was targeted at the LSE community with the objective of drawing together theoretical and practical realities in a critical debate. The audience consisted of students on the new Masters in ‘Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship’ programme and individuals from the London ecosystem with an interest in social entrepreneurship, this included venture capitalists, social enterprises, NGOs and International Agencies like the UN.
The series engaged participants in dialogue with social entrepreneurs and fostered an environment of networking and knowledge sharing, where students and practitioners could engage and connect, discuss ideas and feel inspired about their social entrepreneur projects.
- Workshop I (22 - 24 November 2017)
Opening Ceremony: Professor Julia Black, the Pro-Director of Research at the LSE opened the reception launching the Social Entrepreneurship 360 series.
Showcase: The flagship event featured a panel discussion, facilitated by Dr Nadia Millington, presented four speakers representing leading social enterprises detailed their social entrepreneurship story, discussed their journey, motivations and purpose as well as how they have identified gaps in knowledge and practice within the sector and their business model.
Research X: A roundtable meeting between LSE faculty and social entrepreneurs.
Entrepreneurial Fair: The invited social entrepreneurs exhibited their work and shared their stories one-on-one with the LSE community, informing, inspiring and engaging anyone with an interest in the field of social entrepreneurship.
- Workshop II (25 February – 1 March 2018)
A series of events, beginning with an Impact Investment Bootcamp, followed by the Ted Pop-up, Popcorn and Panel, where there were screenings from TedX in Latin America looking at central themes around Social Enterprise, followed by an international Skype panel with alumni social entrepreneurs from across the globe. A panel discussion presented three social entrepreneurs whose businesses are at different stages of development.
- Workshop III (7 June 2018)
The programme brought together social entrepreneurs to impart their knowledge of becoming a social entrepreneur, discuss the projects and their experience with an audience of students focused on social entrepreneurship and innovation. The afternoon consisted of a series of four bootcamps, which provided free training for social entrepreneurs.
