About me

I am a native German speaker with more than twenty years experience of teaching German at various Universities in London. I was very happy to join the language team at the LSE in 2007 as I have a keen interest in social and political sciences. After my M.A. in Performing Arts (Stuttgart), I trained as a German teacher at Kingston University in London and received my M.A. in Online and Distance Education from the Open University. As well as teaching German, I also like studying other languages which gives me a very good understanding of the linguistic background of my students.  My third M.A. was in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages from London University.  I currently teach online and face-to-face German courses in London and Oxford.

About the Language Centre

LSE is a centre for the study of the social sciences and this is reflected in its Language Centre.

Our courses focus on language and society, encouraging you to learn how to use language in the contexts you would like to live, study and work in. We teach people to speak languages, but also teach about language (socio-linguistics and intercultural communication) and offer a range of courses on literature and society.

We offer English for Academic Purposes programmes, BSc programmes a range of undergraduate degree courses that can be taken as part of a degree and a range of language options that can be taken outside of a degree programme. All programmes and courses relate language study and support to the fields of interest of social science students.

The Language Centre is part of LSE’s Academic and Professional Development Division.
