Ambedkar's birthday: open archives + tour

Hosted by the LSE Library

LSE Library Gallery, United Kingdom

To commemorate the birthday of LSE alumnus Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar, who championed Dalit rights and Chaired the Drafting Committee for the Indian constitution. We will be displaying his School file from the archives – drop-in to see them in person.

Browse through a selection of materials at your own pace, with staff on hand to answer any questions. Whether you're a newcomer to archives or a seasoned researcher, these laid-back events offer a great opportunity to explore our collections in an informal setting.

  • Interpretation about the archives for you to learn more about what you see
  • Staff nearby for chats about the archives or to answer your questions about using archives in teaching, research, creative practice or personal interest.
  • At 1pm, an opportunity for a short behind-the-scenes tour of the stores for a general introduction to the collections. *limited to 10 people on a first-come, first-served basis
