The Department of Management at LSE offers a challenging and rewarding work environment with great benefits, award-winning family friendly policies, and generous leave.

The Department of Management at LSE boasts a unique and diverse community of academic, research and professional services staff. Passionate about teaching, research and creating an exceptional environment for students, our people are crucial in the success and development of the field of management.

As a member of the Department of Management, you can work alongside a diverse and vibrant community of researchers and teachers aiming to impact socially meaningful challenges in business and policy worldwide. Based in London, we also profit from the diversity and vibrancy of a global city with faculty and staff from over 26 countries.

Equality and diversity

LSE is committed to improving equality and diversity across the school and is currently working towards the ECU’s Race Equality Charter Mark and Athena Swan Charter. The former aimed to improve the representation, progression and success of minority ethnic staff and students within higher education. The Athena Swan Charter was expanded in 2015 to recognise work undertaken to address gender equality in arts, humanities, social sciences, business and law. The School is applying for recognition from the charter in 2016.

The Department of Management at LSE takes an active role in supporting this vision with the newly created Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Committee, participating in staff network groups, supporting academics who research in this area and encouraging related teaching, such as the 2016 CEMS Block Seminar on Gender and Diversity Management.

LSE is also proud to be a part of the Two Ticks Scheme – demonstrating the School’s commitment to employing and retaining disabled staff.

Professional Services Staff

Various opportunities are available to get involved in interesting and engaging activities outside of your primary work responsibilities. Whether it is supporting the environmental mission of the Department of Management’s award-winning Green Impact Team, becoming more physically active as part of a Global Corporate Challenge (GCC) team, or simply attending monthly socials with colleagues, the Department of Management promotes a positive and fun work environment.

The Department also strongly encourages Professional Services staff to progress their career within the Department or in the larger LSE community. Each term, the Department hosts Spotlight Sessions to help further develop and orient staff about a new area within Higher Education, our Department’s programmes or School opportunities.

Here's what staff had to say about working at the LSE Department of Management:

One of the best aspects of my job is being able to assist faculty in communicating their research to the wider world. It's fascinating learning about colleagues' research and I enjoy the creativity of deciding how best the Department can provide communication support.

The Department of Management is a really progressive and creative environment. I'm always learning something new and meeting new people and really feel I'm encouraged to express myself. I also appreciate the regular opportunities for professional development and enjoy working with such a forward-thinking team who aren't afraid to try something new.
