We are delighted to share that Harry Barkema, Professor of Management, has received the Carlo Masini Award for Innovative Scholarship in the Fields of Public and Non-profit Management.

This award is given to the best paper from across the Academy of Management which examines the behaviour of public and/or non-profit organisations.

The paper, titled ‘Align or Perish: Dynamic Social Enterprise Networks in Sub-Saharan Africa’, was co-authored with Christian Busch, former PhD student at LSE Department of Management and current Faculty Director at New York University.

The award will be presented at the Academy of Management Annual Meeting in August 2021. 

Professor Barkema was on the Board of Governors for the Academy of Management and several of its sub-committees. He was an associate editor (twice) of the leading general management journal in the field, the Academy of Management Journal, and has published dozens of articles in top management journals. 

Professor Barkema is also the founding director for MSc Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship.
