About me

Dr. Francesca Manzi joined the department in November 2021. After obtaining her PhD in Social Psychology from New York University, she was a postdoctoral fellow at Utrecht University. Dr. Manzi has published in leading academic journals such as Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes and the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology. Her work has been featured in popular media outlets such as Forbes and The Washington Post.

Dr. Manzi’s research explores ways in which gender-based beliefs shape perceptions, evaluations, and decision making in modern organizations. In her work, she uses a combination of experimental, field, and big-data-analytic methods to better understand the causes and consequences of gender-based bias both from the perspective of the evaluator and from the perspective of the evaluatee.

Prior to obtaining her PhD, Dr. Manzi worked as an Organizational Psychologist and consultant in Santiago, Chile.
