Anna Czaplewska-Jaffery holds a BSc in Psychology and MSc in Organisational Psychology from London City University. Both her undergraduate and postgraduate dissertations received a distinction, and her research on Social Networking and Employee Stress was chosen for presentation at the International Positive Occupational Health Psychology Seminar in 2012. While working towards her PhD, Anna also received an MRes in Management from LSE. Anna's work on Organisational Care and her research on Gender Equality and Workplace Anger have been selected for presentation at the Academy of Management Conference. She is a recipient of the ESRC funding, as well as the prestigious research grant from the Institute for Humane Studies.
Prior to joining LSE, Anna worked as a management consultant and business psychologist for over a decade with experience in coaching, leadership development, training, talent assessment and change management. During that time Anna worked in a range of environments, from large multinational corporations and boutique consultancies to start-ups, providing her with opportunities to work abroad and in diverse settings. She continues her consulting and coaching practice through independent work and has run workshops on topics related to her professional expertise as well as her research to large organisations such British Airways.
Anna’s research interests align with her business expertise and centre around emotions at work, gender equality, leadership, social norms and power, as well as organisational and national culture. She is especially interested in cross-cultural leadership, the interplay between leader’s gender and culture, as well as leaders’ emotional regulation and employee wellbeing.
