About me

David Cai is a PhD student in the Economics and Management programme. He holds a BA in Mathematical Economic Analysis from Rice University in Houston, Texas (Class of 2019). From 2017 to 2018, he spent a year as an Abraham-Broad Scholar studying Philosophy at Trinity College, Cambridge. During the summer of 2018, he interned at Barings, an investment management firm.

Prior to LSE, David worked as a Scientific Research Associate with Prof. Dr. Elliott Ash's group at ETH Zurich's Center for Law & Economics. His research interest lies in empirical studies of organisational economics, political economy, and innovation.
