About me

Dr Mariya Stoilova holds a post-doctoral research position at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). With a strong focus on multi-method evidence generation and cross-national comparative analyses, her work focuses on the intersection of child rights and digital technology use, well-being and family support, and intimate life, citizenship and social inequalities.

Some of the research projects she has been recently involved in include: Disrupting Harm: Online child sexual exploitation and abuse (UNICEF, 2019), Children's Data and Privacy Online (ICO, 2018–19), Outcomes and Effectiveness of Children's Helplines (NSPCC, 2018), Maximising children's online opportunities and minimising risks (LSE KEI Fund, 2016-17), Global Kids Online (2015-16, UNICEF) and Living Apart Together: A multi-method analysis (2011-13, ESRC). Mariya has a PhD from the University of Leeds for her work on Gender and Generation: Women’s experiences of the transition from socialism in Bulgaria (2004-08, ORSAS and Open Society).
