Mercedes joined the LSE Middle East Centre as the Kuwait Programme Coordinator in November 2022. Prior to joining the Centre, she worked as a projects officer and gender advisor in a security and defence company, as well as lecturing at Sheffield Hallam University and publishing reports and papers for various journals and companies. Mercedes holds a BA in Middle Eastern Studies from SOAS, University of London, and an MA in International Relations (Culture and Politics) from Leiden University.
At the Centre, Mercedes coordinates the Kuwait Programme's research grant and collaboration projects, as well as overseeing its alumni network and visiting fellowships.
