About me

Sonia Exley joined the LSE Department of Social Policy in 2011. She teaches on a range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses and is Deputy Director of the MSc in International Social and Public Policy.

Sonia’s specialist area of research is education policy. She has a particular interest in the marketisation and privatisation of education systems across the world.

Sonia has published in a wide range of education and social policy journals, including the Journal of Education Policy, Social Policy and Administration, Policy and Politics, the Oxford Review of Education, Comparative Education, the British Journal of Educational Studies, the British Educational Research Journal and Journal of Social Policy.
