Vicente Silva is an LSE Fellow in the Department of Social Policy at the London School of Economics and Political Science.

He did a PhD in Social Policy at the University of Edinburgh, studying the expansion of the future of work agenda in global governance in the 2010s. He has studied the engagement of key actors in global labour policy (the ILO, the OECD, the World Bank, as well as social partners) with the social implications of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. His work on international labour politics has been published in Global Social Policy and the Global Labour Journal. His current research agenda looks at the involvement of global institutions with the employment consequences of the coronavirus pandemic.

Vicente has previously worked as a researcher at the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and as a consultant for the Public Policy Division of the Government of Chile. He holds a BA in Sociology from the University of Chile and an MSc in Sociology and Global Change from the University of Edinburgh.
