I am a Research Assistant in the Department of Social Policy. I shall be working with Professor Coretta Phillips on the ESRC project examining the crime and criminal justice experiences of Gypsies and Travellers since the 1960s. I shall be running a crime (victimisation and self-report offending) survey in the London area over the next 12 months. Being a Showman Traveller myself, I have a personal and keen interest in this project and am able to offer my experience in cross-cultural communication and understanding.

My undergraduate degree was in Psychology at St Marys University, I then continued to pursue a master’s in Clinical Neuroscience at the University of Roehampton. After finishing my studies, I worked in Healthcare as an Assistant Psychologist in Neuropsychiatric services. Working within healthcare settings broaden my understanding of health and social inequalities and led me to pursue my current post on the ESRC research project. My research interest lie in the fields of ethnicity and crime, with a particular interest on the experiences of Gypsies and Travellers and, brain injury, social violence and offending.
