About me

Tymofii Brik is assistant professor at Kyiv School of Economics, where he leads research in sociology and local governance. He received his PhD in Carlos III of Madrid, MSc in Utrecht University, and an MSc in Kyiv Taras Shevchenko National University. In 2018 and 2019-2020 he was a visiting researcher at Stanford University and New York University respectively. He is a co-chair of the “Social inequality” network at the European Social Science History Conference.  Besides academia, he is a member of PONARS and VoxUkraine, board member at CEDOS, advisory board member at Gradus Research, and Executive team member at SITADHub . He also cofounded a social restaurant Urban Space 500in Kyiv. 

His paper “When church competition matters?” won the N.Panina award for the "Best young sociologist" in 2018 by the Institute of Sociology of the National Academy of Science of Ukraine.
