Delivered in short, intensive teaching modules, the programme is taught in London and two international destinations – giving you exposure to contrasting business cultures. The modular format means you can fit your studies around your work, family and other commitments. This requires only nine weeks away from the office.

You can live and work anywhere in the world while participating in the programme, joining a diverse and global cohort each year. Entry requirements
- An upper second class honours (2:1) bachelor’s degree, or international equivalent. Select your country from the dropdown list below to find out the entry requirements that apply to you.
- A minimum of five years' full-time, relevant work experience. The majority of students on the programme will have more than five years' experience.
- "Standard" level English language - IELTS or TOEFL. If your native language is not English or if the language of instruction of your previous degree is not English (see our English language requirements).
- GMAT or GRE. See "additional tests" below for more information.

The GMAT or GRE is recommended only for applicants who don't meet the Bachelor’s degree requirements above. For those applicants only, this isn't required but is strongly recommended as it'll make your application more competitive.

Programme content
The programme is designed for full-time working professionals, allowing you to maintain your career while studying. Our flexible structure includes seven short, intensive classroom modules (each lasting one to two weeks) spread over 17 months. This requires only nine weeks away from the office in total.
The curriculum offers practical learning from diverse business cultures, with five modules held in London and two in international locations. Between modules, you can continue working full-time with access to our comprehensive online learning platform that supports your studies.
Each module is designed to be immediately applicable, enabling you to implement new insights and innovations in your workplace from day one. You can live and work anywhere in the world while participating in the programme, joining a diverse and global cohort each year.

Core courses
All students will undertake a series of core courses covering the essential pillars of management and leadership in the global business environment. Students will complete the programme with a dissertation or capstone project, bringing together learning from all courses and providing an opportunity to specialise in your area of interest, solve a real challenge you are facing in the workplace, or create a business plan to launch your own venture.
Year 1
Foundations of Management, Strategy and Financial Control
A uniquely integrated course which provides an overview of the development of key management disciplines and their relationship to questions of financial control. The course sets out a framework for understanding the development of modern business that is rooted in the disciplines of economics, psychology and sociology, to place management issues and practices in their historical and organisational context. Sessions will combine lectures and case studies to provide students the opportunity to apply concepts relating to these topics, whilst also considering themes such as sustainability and social impact.
Managerial Economics
This course aims to equip you with a range of tools to analyse the behaviour of firms and consumers in markets. It'll introduce you to basic microeconomic concepts and show how a deeper understanding of how markets work can lead to making better business decisions. You'll also learn how to use these tools in practice, through case-based class discussion and assessed work, enabling you to instantly apply your learning back in the workplace.
Organisational Behaviour and Leadership
Understanding individuals, teams and organisation is fundamental in any management role. This course discusses psychological theories and considers there meaning for managers. It brings together theory and practice by using conversations, group exercises, presentations, and course work to apply the course material to business problems and embed learning. By the end of the course, you should be able to critically evaluate some of the main theories of organisational behaviour and apply those theories to issues in your organisation. In addition, we reflect upon leadership style and skills. Drawing on relevant theories, we examine your personal leadership style and its implications for working with others. Discuss the leadership skills that are critical to effectiveness, how themes such as Equity, Diversity and Inclusion and sustainability can be incorporated into this and consider how to apply these skills to build positive organisational environments. You will be asked to complete two in-depth evaluations to prepare for these sessions. Profiles will be used to guide your leadership development. An optional one-to-one meeting to discuss your leadership is included in the schedule.
Financial Management
The aim of the course is to provide a comprehensive overview of firms' financial decision making. The course is designed to provide an applied and practical approach to finance, enabling the students to address topical issues that modern corporations face. In particular, the course builds on concepts in business strategy, valuation techniques, and capital structure theories, and applies those tools in a systematic and rigorous way to real-life financial management problems. Topics such as mergers and acquisitions and initial public offerings will also be covered.
Marketing Strategy
Marketing is ultimately about understanding and shaping behaviour and this course aims to provide a rigorous examination of the key analytical frameworks, technical tools, and concepts that are essential to building an effective marketing strategy. We will cover the main theories and concepts in marketing management and how to apply these in a practical setting, including looking at how machine learning techniques are changing how information on consumer preferences, their decision-making journeys, and their purchase behaviours is gathered and analysed. A key aim of the course is to develop an analytical toolkit that is applicable to a wide range of industries and functions.
Year 2
Strategy, Organisation and Innovation
This course investigates central questions in strategic management, including the drivers of differences in profitability across (for-profit) firms and the frameworks with which to analyse them, Power Nodes and scenario planning to address the complexities of strategy and competition, and the challenges of implementing a new corporate strategy.
International Business Strategy and Emerging Markets
This is a course in international business and strategy. Multinational firms have been an increasingly significant aspect of the corporate environment in developed countries since the 1960s and are responsible for a high proportion of global output, exports and investment, as well as the bulk of foreign direct investment. In the past few decades their activities have been increasingly focused to developing economies, including China and India, and transition economies such as Brazil, Vietnam and South Africa. This course will analyse the emergence of firms which operate on a global scale and their current and likely future interactions with emerging markets. It will include the recent development of large-scale global business players from the emerging economies. It will also focus on how the institutional characteristics of emerging markets affect the choices and behaviour of multinational firms, both now and going forward. Teaching methods will combine lectures with in-depth case analysis, company visits and corporate speakers. Half of the course will take place during one of two overseas modules within a dynamic emerging market and further explore the way technology, entrepreneurship and social entrepreneurship are evolving within this market.
Dissertation/Capstone Project
This course is a student-led independent study project where students can choose to engage in an academic dissertation or a capstone project. Both options require the student to produce a 6,000-word report that demonstrates familiarity with relevant literature and analyses original data collected by the student. The dissertation is grounded in academic concepts whereas the capstone project presents a new business idea. Through this project, students demonstrate skills in critical thinking and writing, conducting original research, and drawing conclusions from that research. It provides students with the opportunity to choose any topic in which they would like to develop their expertise and can focus on an area that is of particular interest to them and their future career objectives, or that would benefit their current organisation. Examples of previous topics have included the barriers to developing local talent in top leadership jobs, the private equity industry in Azerbaijan, women and leadership in the UAE, public sector employee motivation, creativity and commitment in sales organisations.
International modules
In today’s globalised world, successful managers and leaders are those who can navigate and adapt to diverse international business cultures and institutional structures. Our programme examines management and leadership through a global lens, offering practical learning experiences through three locations - London and two further international destinations. We address current international business issues and provide deep insights into global diversity in management practices.
London, UK
Five modules will take place at LSE’s cosmopolitan campus in the heart of London, where you'll join the School’s prestigious tradition of academic debate and our thriving student community. There is always a huge range of activities and events to choose from while you are here, including our high profile public lecture and events series, as well as a taste of London as a global centre for culture, entertainment, history, industry and government.
You'll have full access to LSE’s facilities including the famous LSE Library, and opportunities to broaden your professional and personal network with other LSE Executive Master’s students.
International modules
Two modules take place in overseas locations; previous trips have included Bangalore (India), Beijing (China), Istanbul (Turkey), Singapore and Cape Town (South Africa). Locations are selected based on the academic content of several of our core courses. The trips are designed to complement each other to give a wide-ranging view of global business.
First destination trip
The first trip focuses on an experiential reflection of the learning gained during the first year of the programme. In addition to understanding the business context in our destination country we'll visit local and international companies with a view to reflecting on the key themes covered during the first-year courses in managerial economics, organisational behaviour and leadership, the foundations of management, financial management and marketing strategy.
Second destination trip
The second trip focuses on our international business strategy and emerging markets course and is aimed at reflecting the learning on the internationalisation strategies of multinational firms investing in emerging markets. This includes gaining an understanding of how multinational firms select their markets to enter, how they chose to enter those markets (eg, through acquisitions, joint ventures, greenfield investments or exports) as well as the opportunities and challenges they face upon entry (eg, growing middle class population, competitive labour costs yet weak institutional environment in the host country, poor infrastructure, cultural or regulatory differences from their home countries and strong local competition). The module will also seek to understand the phenomenon of global firms emanating from these emerging market countries.
During each international module, students will:
- experience classroom learning combined with company visits
- be immersed in the local business culture, with visits to local and multinational companies, hearing from an eclectic mix of individuals and organisations in diverse sectors of the economy, to get a real understanding of the opportunities, challenges and issues faced in doing business in varying markets
- attend talks from prominent international industry experts
- hear from speakers from resident universities to gain insight into the local landscape

Please note that programme transfers within LSE are not permitted for Executive Global Master's in Management candidates. If you've been offered a place on another graduate programme at LSE you won't be able to transfer to EGMiM, and similarly you won't be able to transfer from EGMiM to any other programme once you've been offered a place. Fees and funding
The table of fees shows the latest tuition fees for all programmes.
You're charged a fee for your programme. Your tuition fee covers registration and examination fees payable to the School, lectures, classes and individual supervision, lectures given at other colleges under intercollegiate arrangements and, under current arrangements, membership of the Students' Union. It doesn't cover fieldwork, travel or living costs in London.

How you learn
How you're assessed
Courses will be assessed through a variety of methods including essays, presentations, take-home exams and group work that help students understand how to put into practice the various components of effective management. There will also be a final dissertation or capstone project based on a topic of your choosing, which can relate to your organisation or personal and professional career goals.
Formative assessment
All taught courses include formative coursework, which is not assessed – meaning it doesn't count towards your overall final course mark. Instead, this helps prepare you for summative assessments. We use a wide range of assessment methods such as essays, case studies, reports and quizzes. Feedback on formative assessments is an essential part of the learning experience.
Summative assessment
This counts towards your final course mark and degree award. Summative assessment for courses can include essays, class participation, assignments, group projects, or a combination of these methods.
Your final degree classification will be based on your performance across all courses.
