In 2022/23, for the third year running, the Widening Participation Team are collaborating with Team Up, an education charity, which “works to reduce the widening attainment gap in education by helping underachieving disadvantaged pupils double their expected progress and improve their future prospects”.
In Lent Term, LSE Tutors will travel to one of our London partner schools, to provide in-person small group tutoring, under the supervision of teachers. Our two partner schools are located in either the Borough of Westminster or the Borough of Barking and Dagenham.
What does the LSE Team Up Maths Tutor role involve?
LSE Tutors will have the opportunity to raise students’ confidence and encourage them to consider higher education when they leave secondary school or college
LSE Tutors must commit to attend paid online training prior to commencing tutoring and will be required to travel to the school and attend for 1.5 hours of tutoring on the below dates. You will be paid for 2.5 hours each week (1 hour preparation and 1.5 hour delivery) plus your attendance at training and your travel expenses will be reimbursed. LSE Tutors will be placed on an LSE Hourly paid contract from mid December 2022 to end of March 2023 to cover the dates of the programme.
