Successfully navigating the uncertainties of the post-COVID-19 world will require deep understanding of the risks, the impact of monetary and fiscal policies, the international monetary system and theories that underpin it, as well as the role and the fragilities of the key players on the global stage. How you learn

Global Macroeconomic Challenges is led by some of LSE’s foremost economics professors, visiting professors and guest speakers from the world’s leading universities and institutions. The programme convenes participants from all over the globe; leaders, thinkers and decision-makers with whom you will share perspectives, insights and intuition as you explore the key issues, concepts and challenges. Facts will be presented throughout the programme, and analysed in class using economic analytical frameworks to unearth insights within the logic of simple models. Lectures are an interactive and dynamic admixture of knowledge-sharing and class discussion, drawing on the most relevant and up-to-the-minute reading assignments for each topic.

Department overview

The Department of Economics at LSE is globally acknowledged to be one of largest and best departments in the world. Almost every major intellectual development within Economics over the past fifty years has had input from members of the department, which counts ten Nobel Prize winners among its current and former staff and students.

Fees and entry requirements

Tuition fee: £7,450

This covers all tuition, course materials, daily lunches and networking events. You will receive an LSE certificate of completion at the end of the programme.

Entry requirements

All LSE executive education participants are required to have:

  • Fluency in English, proficiency level or working knowledge of the language is essential.
  • A good undergraduate degree or significant work experience in a relevant role(s).
  • Minimum five years’ professional experience. Typically our participants have more than ten years’ work experience, but we will consider those with less experience who have enjoyed an accelerated career path to a senior level.
  • Basic knowledge of macroeconomics.
