Farr Prize

The Farr Prize

William Farr

The Farr Prize is named after William Farr (1807-1883), who is regarded as one of the founders of medical statistics. He was also an actuary.

The Farr Prize itself dates back to the 1920's and was previously awarded by the School until 2005 when it was handed back to the departments.

This prize is awarded to the student who achieves the best performance in final examinations for a BSc student in the Departments of Mathematics or Statistics.

The prize consists of two prizes of £250 each and a certificate.
