Henry Overman appointed to Industrial Strategy Advisory Council

Henry Overman OBE, Professor of Economic Geography at LSE and CEP Research Director, has been appointed to the Industrial Strategy Advisory Council, it was announced today.

Professor Overman is one of 16 members of the council, an independent body which will inform and monitor the development and delivery of the government’s industrial strategy.

The council will be chaired by Microsoft UK CEO, Clare Barclay. The government has committed to putting it on a statutory footing.

Professor Overman, who is also Director of the What Works Centre for Local Economic Growth, is an expert in the causes of spatial disparities and the impact of urban and regional policy. He is President of the Urban Economics Association.
