Professor Michael Power Wins James G. March Prize at EGOS Conference

The Department of Accounting at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) is thrilled to announce that Professor Michael Power has been awarded the esteemed James G. March Prize 2024 at the European Group for Organizational Studies (EGOS) conference for his academic paper, "Theorizing the Economy of Traces: From Audit Society to Surveillance Capitalism," published in Organization Theory in 2022.

The James G. March Prize is awarded biennially to the best article published in Organization Theory in the preceding two years. This prize honours the scholarship and legacy of Jim March, a towering figure whose work has inspired countless scholars within the EGOS community.

Professor Power’s winning paper exemplifies the diversity of social science perspectives related to organizations, organizing, and the organized. The paper critically examines the evolution from audit society to surveillance capitalism, offering new insights into contemporary organizational dynamics.

Professor Michael Power, a distinguished Professor of Accounting at LSE, is a fellow of the British Academy, an Academic Governor of LSE, and a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. His work continues to shape the accounting and organizational studies field, reflecting his deep commitment to advancing academic research and contributing to meaningful scholarly discourse.
