Visit. Prof. Zimran Samuel MBE

Zimran Samuel MBE is a Visiting Professor in Practice at the London School of Economics (LSE). Zimran assists with the BA Anthropology & Law degree. 

Having served as a Fellow at the LSE since 2015, Zimran continues the work of the late Professor Simon Roberts who first initiated the Anthropology & Law degree programme. 

Zimran is a barrister at Doughty Street Chambers in London and an elected member of the Executive Committee of the Bar Human Rights Committee (BHRC). 

Zimran was awarded Family Law Barrister of the Year (Lexis Nexis) in 2014. He was the Junior Pro Bono Barrister of the Year (Advocate) in 2020. Zimran was further shortlisted for IBAHRI International Pro Bono Barrister of the Year in 2020.

Prior to coming to the Bar, Zimran worked at the Office of Legal Affairs at the United Nations Headquarters in New York.
