About me

Anji is Centre Manager within CPEC. She has over 21 years of experience in research management and 15 years of experience in knowledge exchange and impact.

Within CPEC, Anji supports the strategic and financial management of the Centre's portfolio of research and supports 80 staff. As well as leading on research, personnel and administrative operations for the Centre, Anji has extensive experience of contractual management for research, and knowledge of the research funding landscape. She has also supported research management initiatives and discussions within the LSE, including co-chairing the Centre Managers Forum (2019-2022).

Anji supports the Centre's Director and Management Committee with the strategic development of the Centre, and manages the Centre's support staff team. 

Anji is also Finance and Impact Manager for the NIHR School for Social Care Research where she leads the strategic development and delivery of the School's research and capacity-building programmes, working closely with seven member universities. She also manages the Three NIHR Research Schools' Dementia Programme (with NIHR Schools for Primary Care Research and Public Health Research). Anji supported the development of the School's first business plan in 2009 and subsequently the commissioning of over 400 awards and a budget of over £60 million. She manages the School's support staff team, and works closely with external stakeholders including research centres and universities, government organisations, the Department of Health and Social Care, the National Institute for Health and Care Research and the NIHR Academy. 

Within NIHR SSCR Anji leads on knowledge exchange and impact, and has developed and implemented strategic initiatives to ensure that the School's research has the potential to impact adult social care policy and practice in England. Anji has also worked on studies exploring knowledge exchange and impact for adult social care research, implementation of research, engagement of practice and policy in research processes, and the types and use of knowledge in decision-making in social care practice. She is interested in how research, policy and practice work together to develop, carry out and implement research to improve policy and practice for adult social care.

Anji continues to represent CPEC and NIHR SSCR to share good practice on issues such as research management and opertations, research contracting, finance, knowledge exchange and impact, and public involvement.
