Chiara is a Research Officer within CPEC working on dementia care in England. She has received a Career Development Award by the NIHR School of Social Care Research to explore the role of research ethics in the context of participatory research, and has recently completed a six-year action research project that aims to use co-creation to improve dementia care in an English local health economy. Her PhD project is nested within this broader study and focuses on how the co-creation process unfolds and on its impact.
She has been involved in a project investigating the impact of diabetes prevention in England (funded by the NIHR CLAHRC North Thames), for example, as well being part of the team that developed the STAR approach (Socio-Technical Allocation of Resources) to help commissioners/payors and service planners increase the value delivered by the health care system. She also supported a pilot study of the STAR approach at the Global Fund.
Chiara previously worked in the area of monitoring and evaluation of EU co-funded programmes in academia and for a consulting firm in Italy before joining the Department of Management at LSE as a research officer. She has contributed to a number of research studies spanning different areas in health and social care.
Chiara holds a BSc in Public Administration and International Institutions Management and an MSc in Economics and Management of Public Administration and International Institutions, both from Bocconi University (Milan, Italy). She is currently a PhD candidate in Social Policy at LSE.
