Dr Andrew Scott was recently quoted in a wral.com article on the rejection of Iceland's Christmas TV ad by the UK advertising authority, Clearcast. The advertisement highlighted deforestation as a damaging side-effect of the production of palm oil. He drew a contrast between the UK's advertising regulation and the USA: “It’s almost the flip side to what you find in the United States, where there is more of a laissez-faire approach, if you want to spend your money on buying airtime, you can. There is a more paternalistic, condescending view reflected in this law.”
