On Friday 14 December Professor Murray gave evidence to The Commission on Justice in Wales on the subject of Legal Technologies (LawTech) in practice and education. Professor Murray discussed the role of universities in training the next generation of lawyers on LawTech and how universities could be a vital provider of continuing education and training to the legal profession, especially in rural areas. He also gave evidence on the key role universities play as a provider of open access to data and research. The Commission was established to consider what arrangements need to be put in place to ensure Wales has a justice system that is fit for purpose and for the new devolution settlement in the Wales Act 2017. It is scheduled to report in 2019.
