Almost a year ago, Professor Andrew Murray, LSE Law, was appointed specialist advisor to the House of Lords Communications Committee Inquiry "The Internet: to regulate or not to regulate?" The Committee has now launched a highly topical report titled Regulating in a digital world with recommendations for a new regulatory approach towards the digital environment as well as guidelines for specific action. In order to keep up with an increasingly fragmented digital landscape, on the one hand, and the lack of self-regulation by major tech companies, on the other hand, the Committee suggests the establishment of a new Digital Authority, which will be guided by a set of 10 principles.
