Dr Luke McDonagh recently appeared on the ‘Two IPs in a Pod’ podcast - the podcast of the Chartered Institute of Patent Attorneys (CIPA). Luke spoke about his new book Performing Copyright: Law, Theatre and Authorship (Hart, 2021), beginning his story in Elizabethan London and taking us through to present day High Court litigation. Luke talks about how copyright protection of theatrical plays emerged in print and performance, and how theatre changed in responding to copyright law over the centuries.
