Professor Gerry Simpson has recently written for Arena magazine about the potential impact of the coronavirus pandemic on multilateralism and internationalism, noting "It’s easy to overplay a crisis, but this might mark an adjustment in the structure of our thought about the world, an undermining of our instinctive faith in multilateralism and a shift in our assumptions about where global expertise and good governance—even pity—might be located."
