Mrs Justice Ayesha A. Malik of the Supreme Court of Pakistan recently visited London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) where she met with the Dean of the LSE Law School, Professor David Kershaw. Mrs Justice Malik arrived in London on the invitation of our LLM student, Mustafa Yar Hiraj, to speak at a conference being hosted by him, namely the LSE Future of Pakistan Conference 2023. Mrs Justice Malik is the first female to be appointed to Pakistan's Supreme Court. She has authored judgements on a wide variety of subjects, including the declaration of the two-finger virginity test and hymen examination of rape victims as unconstitutional and violative of human dignity, enforcement of international arbitration in Pakistan, the declaration of assets in general elections, etc.
