In March 2023, nations around the globe agreed the world’s first High Seas Treaty. As an expert adviser to Cuba, Chair of the G77 + China Group of countries, Siva Thambisetty had not just a front row seat at negotiations, but she was a key architect of much of the Treaty’s text on the management of marine genetic resources; taken from expert briefings to this coalition of 134 developing countries.
