Dr Tatiana Flessas recently talked to France 24 about the return of the Parthenon Sculptures. She noted that national museums in the UK are prevented in law from making restitution of items in their collections. Museums have responded in some instances by offering loans rather than restitution. But, Dr Flessas commented, the British Museum would not "risk" lending the Parthenon marbles, "because it's completely evident that the Greeks will hold on to them."
