Professor Stephen Humphreys was recently quoted in a Guardian article in which leading climate scientists shared their thoughts on the future.
“The tacit calculus of decision-makers, particularly in the Anglosphere – US, Canada, UK, Australia – but also Russia and the major fossil fuel producers in the Middle East, is driving us into a world in which the vulnerable will suffer, while the well-heeled will hope to stay safe above the waterline” – even with the cataclysmic 3C rise he expects. Asked what individual action would be effective, he said: “Civil disobedience.”
