Reem Abbass Moustafa is a PhD candidate in Law at LSE. Her research focuses on the regulatory framework protecting cultural property from illicit trafficking, specifically looking at the crippling effect that the culture of impunity has on the domestic and international regulations in place. In addition to her interest in cultural heritage law, art law, restitution, repatriation, regulation & technology, Reem is interested in international arbitration, international dispute resolution and mediation.
Reem holds a B.A in Business Administration from the American University in Cairo (Summa Cum Laude), an LL.B. from Ain Shams University (Honours) and an LL.M. from Harvard Law School. Prior to joining LSE, Reem has worked as an attorney in dispute resolution and project finance at major international law firms in New York City and Cairo.
