LSE staff and students from across the School came together to discuss their Global Health work at the internal launch of the multi-disciplinary Global Health Initiative.
The event kicked off with a seminar exploring how Global Health is currently addressed at the LSE, with presentations by Elias Mossialos, LSE Health, Cathy Campbell, Psychological and Behavioural Science, and Ken Shadlen, International Development.
Discussion was wide ranging on what LSE’s unique contribution is to the field, the value of public engagement, and what the new research initiative can offer LSE staff and students. With many postgraduates in the audience, there was clear appetite for more collaborative working and cross-departmental support mechanisms.
The seminar was followed by drinks and an exhibition of nearly 40 posters and abstracts showcasing Global Health work submitted by staff and students from a range of LSE Departments.
LSE staff and students can access an audio recording of the seminar. Login with your LSE credentials. Presentations start at 00:13:18.
The initiative will host a major public launch event in the autumn, but in the meantime a website, paper peer review group and seminar series are in the pipeline. Find out more or contact Beth Kreling.
