As head of the IQVIA Institute for Human Data Science, Murray Aitken provides policy setters and decision makers in the global health sector with evidence, analysis, and insights that contribute to the advancement of Human Data Science to improve human health.

A renowned healthcare expert, Aitken addresses the challenges facing the global healthcare industry and prospects for improving patient outcomes, managing costs and maximizing access through the application of Human Data Science—an emerging discipline that combines insights from  human science (disease biology, prevention, and treatment), data science (AI, Machine Learning, and predictive analytics), and human health (social, environmental, and behavioral).

Patrick Jeurissen is Professor in Sustainable Health Care Systems at Radboud University Medical School and Science Officer of the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sports in the Netherlands. His expertise lays in healthcare finance and in the design and implementation of policies that specifically address issues of sustainability and affordability in health care.

Dr Monique Mrazek
Visiting Senior Fellow

Monique Mrazek is a Senior Global Health Tech Industry Specialist at the World Bank Group/ International Finance Corporation (IFC), within the Disruptive Technologies, Venture Capital and Funds team. Monique’s expertise has been instrumental in leading IFC to build a growing investment portfolio of earlier stage health tech companies that deliver innovative technologies or business models with high development impact potential in emerging markets. In addition, she has extensive experience in corporate finance and private equity focused on health care and life sciences and has worked globally including in Asia, Latin America, Middle East, Western and Eastern Europe, and Africa. Monique is IFC’s nominee director on the board of Sala Uno and Clinicas del Azucar, both based in Mexico. Monique holds a PhD from the London School of Economics and an MSc in Health Economics from the University of York. Her research interests include digital health, women’s health, artificial intelligence, interoperability, data privacy and data protection.

Dr Leeza Osipenko 
Visiting Senior Fellow

Leeza is a Chief Executive Officer of a non-profit research organisation Consilium Scientific, which she founded in 2020. Throughout her career she gained experience in academia, consulting and the public sector. After completing a PhD in Systems Engineering in the USA, she joined the University of Warwick Medical School where she worked as Senior Research Fellow on evaluating non-invasive foetal DNA tests. Then she relocated to London and joined a consulting company as Principal Economist leading on projects for NICE and other UK public sector departments. Leeza is an expert in Health Technology Assessment and between 2014 and 2018 she served as a Director of NICE Scientific Advice. Her academic work focuses on examining the status quo of clinical research, through quality improvement, transparency, and methodological rigour. In particular, she is interested in clinical data integrity, health policy, applied clinical research, and clinical trial design. Between 2018 and 2021 Leeza was a Senior Lecturer in Practice at the London School of Economics (LSE) Department of Health Policy.

Govin Permanand

Govin Permanand is Senior Advisor to the Director of Country Health Policies and Systems at the WHO Regional Office for Europe. His interests lie in health systems research, implementation science and knowledge transfer, and access to medicines. He established the Evidence and Information for Policy programme at WHO/Europe and previously led the Health Evidence Network. He is a member of several international advisory groups and has held a number of editorial positions with academic and policy journals. Govin has worked with the European Observatory on Health Systems and Policies and completed a PhD on the politics of pharmaceuticals at the LSE.

Ryan Richardson is Chief Strategy Officer at BioNTech SE. Prior to joining BioNTech, Ryan was an Executive Director in the Global Healthcare Investment Banking team at J.P. Morgan in London. Ryan holds an MSc in Health Economics and Policy from the London School of Economics (2003-4).

Dr Stephen Roberts

Dr Stephen Roberts is a leading critical global health security scholar, and Lecturer in Global Health at the Institute for Global Health. His research focuses on the datafication and digitisation of global health security practices (which includes new uses of Big Data analytics, Artificial Intelligence, and evolving data collection methods) during public health emergencies, and considers the impacts of these digital shifts across government, politics, society, law and ethics.

At Walgreens Boots Alliance, Giovanni founded and developed digital health platforms visited hundreds of millions of times as well as health solutions focused on enhancing convenient access to affordable quality healthcare care in the community. Managed partnerships in primary care, diagnostic, optical, hearing and other health services. Giovanni’s innovations have been recognised by Fierce Innovation Award Healthcare Edition 2020, Webby Awards Honoree 2019, NHS Innovation Accelerator 2016 and more, as well as featured in several journals and publications.

Current or past advisor, member or board member of: ISPOR Special Task Force on Value Based Care Implementation, Health Division of the Consumer Technology Association, a cancer screening tele-dermatology company, and a US healthcare data interoperability company.
