EChiLiBRiST is an ISGlobal-led consortium aimed at reducing Child Mortality in Africa.

EChiLiBRiST is a 5-year project, funded by Horizon Europe Research and Innovation Program, Innovate UK and UKRI, which aims to develop and validate a rapid test for early recognition and improved management of febrile children at risk of severe diseases

LSE will be responsible for the EChiLiBRiST health economics and socio-behavioural sciences work package. We will model economic and behavioural responses to novel diagnostic interventions in different scenarios in Ethiopia, Gabon and Mozambique. Our specific objectives include:

  •  Assessing the value for money of the device in low-income settings
  • Assessing the determinants of decision-making and the preferences held by healthcare providers and families when using a diagnostic tool with risk-stratification
  • Evaluating the household labour-leisure tradeoffs associated with fever episodes
