The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) in England is tasked with recommending to the NHS whether new drugs should be reimbursed. NICE relies on cost-effectiveness analyses to determine whether new drugs offer good value for money for the NHS. However, the impact of NICE recommendations on the NHS has not been empirically evaluated. This project evaluates the efficiency of pharmaceutical spending in England.
