About me

Dr. Chenyang HE is a Visiting Fellow at the School of Public Policy at the London School of Economics and Political Science. She is now a post-doctoral fellow at Institute for Global Public Policy, Fudan University. She earned a bachelor’s degree in public administration from Fudan University and a Ph.D. in public policy from City University of Hong Kong.

Her research interests lie in nonprofit studies, public participation, environmental policy and environmental governance. Her articles have appeared in VOLUNTAS: International Journal of Voluntary and Nonprofit, Ecological Indicators, Journal of Cleaner Production, Fudan Public Administration Review (in Chinese) and among others. She also serves as a reviewer for Cities, Voluntas: International journal of voluntary and nonprofit organizations and among others.

She is currently conducting a research project exploring how to make environmental transparency work in China. Through investigating the measurement, rationale and effectiveness of environmental transparency, this project aims to explain why transparency succeeds in achieving the objectives ascribed to it under some conditions but not under others.
