Research topic:

The impact of the Indian States’ Education Budget on school inputs and student outcomes.

 

Deeptha is a quantitative researcher working on education in India. She is funded by the ESRC and holds a BA in Economics and Statistics from Yale-NUS College in Singapore and an MSc in Economics from New York University - Abu Dhabi (NYUAD). Prior to joining the LSE, she worked as a researcher and an Economics Instructor at NYUAD.

Research Interests:

Her current research interests involve exploring the impact of the Indian states’ education budget on different school inputs and student outcomes at both the primary and tertiary education levels. Her research analyses how this impact is heterogenous for different caste and socio-economic groups. She uses econometric and statistical methods for her research. Broadly, her research focuses on the education-labour nexus, result-based policy evaluation and social inequality.
