Thesis abstract:

I’m interested in social class, social mobility, occupational choice, and elites. My PhD research engages with social mobility into elite occupations and micro-class reproduction in Germany. I’m particularly interested in the legal profession. My work is funded by the German Academic Scholarship Foundation.

My work is located at the intersections of sociology, economics, and social policy to comprehensively understand the conditions and perceptions of social class and social mobility. I seek to create impactful public-facing research that’s communicated in an accessible manner. You can read about my work in the media here and here.

Affiliations:

I am Doctoral Programme Fellow at the International Inequalities Institute and Co-Founder of its Doctoral Research Group on Inequality and Social Mobility. I also serve as postgraduate research student representative at LSE’s Department of Sociology.

During my undergraduate and postgraduate studies, I was awarded scholarships by Hans Boeckler Foundation and German Integration Foundation.

Outside academia, I am a member of The 93% Club, serve as adviser to young professionals at Netzwerk Chancen, mentor high-school students at START Foundation, and give free tuition at Haydee. And I support Borussia Dortmund and Arsenal London FC.
