Thesis Abstract:

This study aims to understand how agricultural production has been changing in Colombia over the last decades by comparing agro-industrial agriculture and the cattle-ranching industry. The research seeks to gather the expert opinions of landowners and those who work in both sectors on issues such as changing forms of production, the challenges faced by the sectors, land distribution, and potential solutions to the problems they identify. It also aims to collect the opinions of landowners about debates on productivity, land use, and land redistribution.

My most recent publications include a co-authored article published at the Journal of Human Rights Practice on sanctions in the Colombia Transitional Justice system (2022, with C. Sandoval and M. Cruz-Rodríguez) and a co-authored policy paper about the budget invested in recent peace policies in Colombia (2022, with A. Rodríguez).
