Photography Competition

(Dis)Order

We are excited to announce our 2024 photo competition! The competition is open to all students in the Department of Sociology (undergraduate, master's and PhD).

The theme for the competition is ‘(Dis)Order’. We’re looking for photos that represent the contrast between chaos and order, the beauty discovered within disarray, or the harmony attained through structured arrangements. You can interpret the theme as you wish.

Your photos can be taken anywhere, wherever you are in the world, and you do not need to be in the photo. We will be displaying the winning submissions around the department and on the departmental website. The top three photos will receive Barbican vouchers.

The competition commences on Monday 25 March 2024. To participate entrants must send a photo of their interpretation of the theme ‘(Dis)Order’ via WeTransfer to sociology.media@lse.ac.uk, with a brief caption of no more than 50 words.

The deadline for submissions is 5pm on Friday 17 May 2024. All submissions will be judged anonymously by a judging committee formed of Department of Sociology Faculty and Professional Services Staff.
