Which halls are included in option A?
Bankside House
Butler's Wharf Residence (from 3 September only)
Carr-Saunders Hall
High Holborn Residence
Passfield Hall|
Rosebery Hall
Sidney Webb House
Can I arrive early into my hall?
Yes, you can book extra nights before your contract starts (subject to availability). If you're in a shared room during term-time, you can only book a single room for early arrival. It's highly likely that you will need to move rooms on the start date of your licence agreement.
How do I book?
Follow the steps in your accommodation system account. You can do this at any time from your "Accommodation status" screen.

What's the earliest date I can move in?
The date depends on your hall and whether you're on a pre-sessional course. There is a list of courses with a pre-sessional requirement further down on this page.
If you're on a pre-sessional course:
- You can arrive at Bankside House, High Holborn Residence, and Sidney Webb House from 20 August.
- At Butler's Wharf Residence, you can arrive from 3 September only. But if you are attending a pre-sessional course (check the list below), you can temporarily stay at Bankside House instead. You will need to book your early arrival as follows:
1 - book your arrival from 3 September in your LSE Student Accommodation System account
2 - book the first part of your stay in Bankside House (check-in from 20 August) by requesting a promo code and then check rates and availability via our early arrival booking engine. This is only for use by the LSE students.
You will have to move from Bankside House to Butler's Wharf Residence on 3 September.
If you're not on a pre-sessional course:
- You can arrive at High Holborn Residence, Sidney Webb House, Carr-Saunders Hall, Passfield Hall, Bankside House and Rosebery Hall from 1 September.
- You can arrive at Butler's Wharf Residence from 3 September.
Will I get my term-time room?
We will try to offer you your term time room type. But if that isn't available, the online booking system will offer you an alternative room. Please be advised it is likely you will be sharing the communal bathrooms and kitchens in your hall with LSE Vacations guests for a few nights before term starts.
Will I be able to book a same sex room for early arrival?
We cannot accommodate same sex allocation requests during early arrival.
If you can't offer me my term-time room will I have to move rooms?
Yes, if we can't offer you your term time room for the early arrival part of your stay, you will have to move rooms before term starts. We try to have your term-time room ready for you as early as possible, so you can move in before the check-in weekend, but that's not always possible. We'll confirm the date on which you will need to move between your early arrival room and your term-time room.
