Study materials
Along with the academic instruction provided by your local teaching centre our specially-written study materials, developed by LSE academics, guide you through your course content and give you access to the thought leadership for which LSE is internationally renowned.
Your study materials are available for you to access in your Virtual Learning Environment (VLE). Depending on the course, your study materials are likely to include digital or downloadable course notes, videos, discussion forums, formative assessments, course work, study skills, past examination papers and examiners’ commentaries.
Examinations
During your EMFSS programme you will be assessed by written examinations. For some courses a project or coursework also counts towards your assessment.
Examinations are set and marked by our academics to ensure your work is assessed to the same standard as London-based students at LSE.

Reference access to the LSE Library and Senate House
EMFSS students are always welcome in London. Registered students have free-of-charge access to the main LSE Library as well as the University of London’s Senate House Library on a reference basis.

Although the study experience will be locally relevant through its delivery by your teaching centre, EMFSS programmes are designed and developed by LSE academics and are assessed to the same academic standards as LSE on-campus degrees. Our Academic Coordinators are critical in ensuring our EMFSS programmes meet LSE’s high standards of teaching.
EMFSS Leadership
Academic Director - Dr Francesco Nava
Lecturer in Economics, Francesco Nava has been instrumental in the development of EMFSS programmes. His research interests include Economic Theory (Networks, Bargaining, Repeated Games) and Industrial Organization Theory.
Associate Academic Director - Dr James Abdey
Assistant Professorial Lecturer in Statistics, James Abdey has been closely involved in shaping the direction of the EMFSS programmes for a number of years. His research interests include market research techniques and forensic statistics - the interplay of statistics and the law.
