Life at Liden & Denz Intercultural Institute of Languages

Liden & Denz Intercultural Institute of Languages offers a variety of award-winning Russian language programmes for academic purposes.

Study during your year abroad

Students will take courses at Liden & Denz Institute of Languages in Riga, Latvia. Then visit the School of Humanities at Tallinn University.

  • Russian Language and Society. An intensive Russian language course (20 hours a week), bringing students to B2 (or above) level of proficiency in Russian.
  • Lectures in Humanities (up to 4 hours a week) at Tallinn University in the School of Humanties including the study of history, philosophy, sociology and literature, media and cultural studies.
  • Students will also conduct data collection for a research project on socio-cultural issues in the target language society.

Each module runs for 22 weeks. This is across two semesters and exclusive of an examination period.

Please remember this important information from your programme regulations:

Students must pass the Russian Language Course of B2 (or above) level at Liden & Denz in order to be eligible for the award of the degree.

Where a student fails an assessment, they will be provided a resit either in Fudan at the end of the year abroad or when they are back in London at the start of the final year of the programme.
